The Sun

The Sun

The Sun

All about the sun. Facts about the sun. Comparison of the sun and earth. Life of the sun. Death of the sun. The temperature of the sun.

The sun and all its mesmerizing Splendor. “Our light our life” it's a drink our Helius Egyptian god Row born every day everything we do control by son I bet on it.

Our sun is 4.6 billion years old with a diameter more than hundred times (109*Earth=Sun) than Earth and Mass is 333000 times more than Earth. It is so big that it can fit more than a million Earth. Through the sun is a hot star of uncondensed gas it is not cooler on its surface the temperature at the core staggered 15 Million degrees and at the surface, it is 5500 degree Celsius.

In our solar system, the sun carries about 99.85 percent of the total mass which league does with a significantly small amount of 0.135%. This is just in our solar system. If we compare with our own galaxy milky way which is a hundred billion times heavier than the sun. We are just imperceptible.

When light is emitted from the core of the Sun it is found around inside for 200 thousand years before released in space. But the distance between the sun and earth is so vast that the light emitted from the sun takes 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach earth. If we decide to travel to the Sun with a commercial aircraft it will take 26 years to reach there. Most of you may not be familiar with the concept of the galactic year. Basically, it is the time taken by our solar system to complete one orbit around the center of our galaxy ‘TheMilkey way’.

Now the things which speak itself for the vastness of space is that the sun is 26000 light years away from the center of our galaxy and it travels at a speed of 220 Km/s it will take around 250million earth years which is just one galactic year.

Apart from heat and light, there are various phenomenon going on the surface of the Sun such as coronal mass ejection.

Coronal Mass Ejection:

The Sun

CME is the brunt of solar winds releases huge quantities of matter electromagnetic radiation into space above the sun's surface. The ejected material is Plasma primary of electrons and protons Most CMEs are ejected from the active and the cooler region on the surface of the sun. These particles are usually will take 24 to 36 hours to reach earth.
The smaller CME evens hitting earth shut down their satellites and global Communications systems. Also, it changes the trajectory of aircraft and interrupts electric power rates. But when a massive CME that directly heats earth it can be exponentially more dangerous which can damage and wipe out anything electric

The Sun

On 1September,1859 Astronomer Richard noticed sudden explosions of the heat of light coming out of the cluster of the sunspot form a CME it is also known as the 'Carrington Event' that CME was so intense that the earth was bombarded with Emps. At that time the technology in the world was at the threshold and hardly sensitive to electromagnetic disturbances. So we didn't see any significant change but still, it takes down the part of recently created telegram services. The graph network starting fires and short-circuiting on some telegram operators also auroras were seen across the clone.

On 23july,2012 similar CME event of intensity as much as Carrington event was recorded from the surface of the earth and it directly passes through the earth's orbit but fortunately, the earth was not there. But it did heat the NASA stereo A pro without which we would never found the intensity of that super Strome.

If the earth was there it would coast the catastrophy disaster in the electrical network. We were so lucky during this event. If the same event has happened a week earlier it would have hit the earth resulting inevitable disaster and we would have been still recovering from the waves of peace.

Solar storms and space weather can adversely affect our technology space and on earth. So to find out the source of coronal heating which has been a scientific mystery for more than 50 years. We have launched various observatory monitoring the sun 24 by 7.

Observatories such as SOHO (SOlar Heliospheric Observatory), STEREO (Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory) and TRACE (Transition Region and Coronal Explorer) has given a solution still the complete answer was not there. Later STEREO and SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory) observatory has improved our knowledge of corona and gives us precise weather report of space.

The sun is the biggest star in our solar system. So it emits a huge amount of energy. The sun puts the energy of 5×10^23 HP/s that's a quite big number. In other words, in one second our sun produces enough energy for almost 500,000 years of the current needs of our so-called civilizations. You need to explant 100 billion tonnes of dynamite to match the energy produced by the sun in just one second.

Voyager1 was a space pro launched on 5th September 1977. Its primary mission was the exploration of Jupiter and Satten. After making the string off discoveries such as active volcanoes on Jupiter's moon. The mission was extended to Voyager Interstellar Mission. Even though it had 35 years since the Voyager spacecraft launched. It is still within our sun's sphere of influence.

In August 2012 voyeger1 made the huge historic entry into interstates space leaving the heliopause which is the theoretical boundary where sun's solar winds stopped by an interstate medium. To this stage voyeger1, one has traveled through a distance of 1 light day which is equal to almost 20 Billion KM. Which shows us the abnormous ness of space.

The sun is about half a way of his life. Over the past 4.5 Billion years during which the planate earth and the entire solar system was born. It has remained relatively unchanged. It will stay for another 4 to 5 Billion years.
